Lumbar
The NuVasive® MAS® platform has revolutionized thoracolumbar surgery. A safe, reproducible lateral approach to the spine is made possible with the NeuroVision® Intraoperative Monitoring System (nerve avoidance) and MaXcess® Access System (customized surgical access). Safer surgery. Faster recovery. Improved outcomes.

XLIF®
NuVasive, in collaboration with Luiz Pimenta, M.D., Ph.D., São Paulo,
Brazil, developed the XLIF procedure.
The XLIF technique allows a safe, reproducible direct lateral retroperitoneal approach to the intervertebral disc space. When coupled with NeuroVision nerve avoidance capabilities, the MaXcess System enables maximum surgical access while minimizing the soft tissue disruption that often occurs during open surgery. Because MaXcess allows greater access to the disc space, a larger implant can be used, indirectly decompressing nerves and restoring disc height and alignment.
MAS® TLIF
The MaXcess System provides customized surgical access while minimizing the soft tissue disruption that often occurs during open surgery. As opposed to minimal access systems, which provide minimal spinal access, minimal visualization, and minimal surgical confidence, MaXcess from NuVasive offers improved visualization, and increased angulation during positioning of instruments and implants.
Incorporating NeuroVision from NuVasive, Free Run EMG is used throughout the TLIF procedure to monitor spontaneous neurological insult from mechanical stimuli. NeuroVision immediately notifies the surgeon of free run activity with an audible alert and a waveform with a yellow background for the corresponding myotome.
When using posterior fixation, the NeuroVision Dynamic Screw Test provides continuous, real-time, stimulated EMG guidance and is seamlessly applied to the surgeon's instruments. This real-time feedback is displayed as easy-to-interpret, color-coded, numeric threshold responses during I-PAS™ II pedicle preparation, tapping, and screw placement.
PLIF
A comprehensive set of NuVasive lumbar interbody fusion instruments allows the surgeon to optimally prepare the disc space for fusion and restores disc space height and alignment via patented Insert and Rotate or “impacted” implant insertion techniques.
When using posterior fixation, the NeuroVision Dynamic Screw Test provides continuous, real-time, stimulated EMG guidance and is seamlessly applied to the surgeon's instruments. This real-time feedback is displayed as easy-to-interpret, color-coded, numeric threshold responses during I-PAS II pedicle preparation, tapping, and screw placement. A seamless integration between SpheRx® II and the NeuroVision Intraoperative Monitoring System provides an added level of safety throughout pedicular fixation procedures without adding time to the surgery.
ALIF
The ALIF portfolio offered by NuVasive provides surgeons with a system of instruments
and implants designed for safe, reproducible single-approach anterior surgery.
CoRoent®
XLR interbody spacers, available in a wide array of footprints and heights to precisely
fit patient anatomy, are efficiently implanted into the disc space using the
EnVoy™ distraction delivery system. The Halo® anterior
lumbar plate combines a low-profile design with a proprietary, integrated screw
locking mechanism to provide highly effective, low-profile fixation without requiring
posterior surgery.
Biologics
Osteocel® Plus is a form of allograft containing mesenchymal stem
cells. Developed to mimic the patient's own bone by providing all
of the necessary bone-growing components, Osteocel Plus offers
an alternative to autograft.
To complement the NuVasive® line of biologics, FormaGraft,® a synthetic comprised of hydroxyapatite, beta-tricalcium phosphate, and bovine collagen, is a scaffold to help support new bone growth.
